June marks Purolator Tackle Hunger® Month, when our teams, partners and customers come together to help stock food banks in communities across Canada. To extend the impact of every contribution, Purolator is matching online donations made this month, up to $100,000, for Food Banks Canada.
Throughout June, Purolator employees are taking part in food drives and fundraising activities in our terminals and communities across the country. These efforts help collect food and funds that are delivered directly to local food banks, supporting them during a critical time of year when demand is high and resources are stretched thin.
“For more than 20 years, Purolator Tackle Hunger has united our people around a shared passion for helping our communities,” said Cindy Bailey, Vice President and Corporate Sustainability Officer, Purolator. “Together, we have delivered more than 27 million meals to Canadian food banks, and we’re not stopping there. With demand at record levels, that commitment extends beyond Purolator to everyone who wants to help address hunger where it’s needed most.”
The food bank system is under critical strain, with visits reaching nearly 2.2 million in March 2025, almost double what they were just a few years ago. Rising food costs are forcing more families to make difficult choices, and children are particularly affected, making up about one third of food bank visits nationwide.
