Ask any employee why Purolator is a great place to work and
they’ll often mention our commitment to driving away hunger
throughout Canada. Through our national sponsorship with the
Canadian Association of Food Banks, our Tackle Hunger program
or the involvement of our employees with various charities across
the country, we live our value of social responsibility year-round.
Some of our community initiatives include the following:
|
-
Community Service Sabbatical Program: Each year,
Purolator provides two employees with the opportunity to
work for up to six months at a non-profit organization of
their choice, while continuing to receive their full pay
and benefits.
- Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB):
Purolator is a national sponsor of the CAFB and provides
financial support, courier services, technical expertise and
support for annual events to help alleviate hunger in Canada.
- Sponsorship program: Through the Purolator Tackle
Hunger program, Purolator works with the Canadian
Football League as well as Maple Leafs Sports Entertainment
Inc. to collect food for local food banks across the country.
|
- United Way: We support the United Way through annual corporate contributions, a national fundraising campaign with employees and ongoing fundraising activities throughout the year.
- Environmental programs: We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and have a number of programs in place to preserve and protect the environment. We were the first courier company in Canada to introduce hybrid electric vehicles to its fleet of curbside deliver vehicles and recently introduced Canada’s first battery-operated electric delivery vehicle.
